Firstly, What is "The Work?" 〰️
We hear the phrase “the work” so often, yet rarely stop to consider what it could actually means…
We’re often led to believe that “the work” has a clear beginning and end, like a task to be completed.
But what if… it didn’t?
Expansion suggests that “the work” is infinite- an ever-evolving process. And if its infinite, could it even be called “work” at all?
What if, instead of working to a fixed outcome, we embraced the idea of working in capacity- meeting ourselves exactly where we are, moment by moment?
-
Capacity refers to your current emotional, mental and physical limits at any given moment in time. It is about recognising where you are at right now- without judgement- and honouring what you can realistically handle. Capacity can fluctuate depending on factors such as stress energy levels or life circumstances. By Acknowledging your capacity, you’re giving yourself permission to work in a way that feels sustainable and supportive, rather than overwhelming and forced.
-
Working in capacity means tuning into your present state and adjusting your efforts to align with what feels manageable and safe.
This might involve:
Taking small, intentional steps instead of big leaps.
Pausing when you need rest or space.
Celebrating incremental progress, without rushing to meet external expectations.
Honouring your emotions and boundaries, knowing they’re valid guides your journey.
For example; rather than forcing yourself to process everything at once, you might focus on exploring just one thought or feeling at a time. This approach reduces overwhelm and creates a nurturing, empowering space for growth.
-
Only you know what is right for you.
However, this approach may be ideal if;
You feel overwhelmed by traditional methods that push for fast or drastic change.
You want a compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore your growth at your own pace.
You resonate with the idea of meeting yourself where you are, instead of feeling pressured to exceed your limits.
You’re looking for a sustainable way to navigate personal challenges without feeling burned out or discouraged.
If you value self-compassion and want to embody expansion as an ongoing, nurturing process, this approach could be a great fit for you.
You don’t have to navigate this journey alone…
This is a space where you can show up as you are. Together, we can explore what is possible within your capacity - step by step, without overwhelm or pressure, focusing on what is meaningful to you.
If this feels aligned, let’s work together.
